Not sure where to post this but I'm kinda curious/concerned about the lack of posting on this forum lately. It seems like some regulars have disappeared. I understand there isn't a main Star Trek show going on but typically on other forums there usually is ample discussion on other topics non-ST related. I am still here too! Life have been hectic and I haven't found time to post as often. I must admit also that I am mostly moved by Star Trek only. I see a lot of activity here about Star Wars and superhero franchises but the truth is that those subjects said nothing to me. Star Wars is a poorly implemented Hero's Journey riff (which can only be -Star Wars- a good canvas to explore political ideas, and that's about it) and I drop from the whole thing the moment Jar Jar Bing pop his big head to the screen. And superheros... I don't know. I only enjoyed Batman and Sandman comics back in the day. I care nothing for the whole Marvel universe thing.
Otherwise, I like it here. I like the discussions and the respectful honesty. It is a small forum, and maybe is better like that. Have you seen Star Wars The clone Wars The complete Seasons 1-7? |

I check in pretty often but don't post much. The activity seems to be mostly in the Star Wars and Superhero threads. I watched the original Star Wars in the theaters and my opinion at the time was meh. I read a lot of old SF books I bought used and the plots seemed weak. I'm one of those weird people who fast forwards past the boring action sequences to get to stuff I find more interesting. So unless someone posts in a topic I'm interested in I don't post much.

I generally don't watch much tv at all. Star Trek is one of the rare shows that I watch more than once once in a while.

Now. I don't watch TV or movies much other then American Football, Star Trek and science oriented shows like the airplane disaster show on Paramount+. I'm more likely to watch a history show or a show about flying planes on YouTube then watch TV.

Generally they don't. There's a lot of overlap in the fan bases. For most, its a friendly rivalry. I don't hate Star Wars. It bores me.
