It might be too early to say, but judging by the numbers so far much less people voted this years, and the vote loss for Democrats is just striking. Dems are set to loss between 12 and 13 millions votes!!! (When compared to 2020, I mean) While Reps loss about 2 millions.
So disheartening!
This should be a moment of deep soul searching for the Democratic Party but probably nothing will come out of it. In my humble opinion this should show to them that they must abandon their centrism, discard the status-quo ideology, move further to the left. Yes, they should have listened to Bernie Sanders when he told them!!! When people are so polarized by disinformation and fundamentalism the right becomes stronger and it is easier for it (the right) to extract energy from the center than it is for the left.
But it might be too late. What the right will do to the institutions of government and law in this country in the next 4 years will be a brutal onslaught. Wait for it.
