Well, a lot of Trekcore/OS veterans (all of us so far) know my feelings on the first "Top Gun" (I'll retract my venom sacks), but I really enjoyed its sequel (as Prometheus predicted).

Tonight I'm finally getting Mrs Vie to watch it with me, so I'm kind of stoked to see it again.

“Top Gun: Maverick” (2022) is a better sequel than its predecessor deserves…

I think it's really his ties to Iceman that make the movie. And some earnest visualizations of regret over some of his life choices, though I will point out that those come only after destroying the Darkstar prototype, which, at the very least, set the program back years.

But, hey, Mavs gotta Mav, amirite?
