I watched the first season and I've caught up with the eps available for season 2 and.....zzzzzzz. This is content for content sake. I find nothing about it engaging except the first ep of the first season because we got to see how rogue clone troopers reacted to Order 66.
But that's about it.
Anyone else watching? And anyone enjoying it?

I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would but I never really got behind Clone Force 99 in the Clone Wars though either.
The 3rd episode of 2nd season hit me hard because of Cody more than anything else.

I just haven't clicked with any of Clone Force 99 at all really. I mean it's neat seeing them work through the transition from Republic to Empire but I just haven't made that connection I did with the other shows.

I watched the first few episodes, but it failed to hook me.

I like it. It's not up there with TCW or Rebels, but I find it quite engaging. It's a huge improvement over Resistance which, despite its interesting animation style, had some of the most annoying characters in all Star Wars.
I'm just two episodes into S2, which already seems quite a bit more ambitious than S1.

Season 2 is definitely amping up everything, which goes along with the Empire beginning to really take over in form and not just name.

I wish the series had just started here instead of S1 which felt like a lot of content for content's sake. Interestingly, and perhaps a detraction to the Bad Batch, I find the eps that don't feature them prominently to be better. For example, I thought ep 7 was fantastic. Basically it's a Clone Wars episodes. Once they show up in the next ep the episode quickly devolves to pretty predictable pew pew and characters monologuing with that one bit of important information before they get killed. Too formulaic for my taste. But....here's hoping it follows more along that previous ep!

Also, mentions of Rex! Watching ep 4 tonight. Mostly, Animated Star Wars greatest triumphs are its handling of character, and characters development overall. (I mean from a storytelling perspective. The design is always absolutely top-notch.) That's something live action SW doesn't always get right.

That's something live action SW doesn't always get right. Agreed. To me, and this might be heretical to SW purists, the best SW is in the animated series. Rebels to me is outstanding and matches the best SW movies(of which there aren't that many to begin with). So it's wonderful to see Mandalorian incorporating aspects of that show, as well as CW. And we're getting more with the Ahsoka show. I just hope it's good.

And we're getting more with the Ahsoka show. I just hope it's good. Part of the problem is the ballooning casts of the films. The OT had three characters we more or less followed and were developed with Han, Luke and Leia. Everyone else was around to drive the plot or introduce comedy. Yes, even Chewbacca and Lando. Almost all of Lando's character development happens in Empire. And it happens over like 15 minutes of screen time, if that.
The PT has a LARGE cast they follow. Mace, Anakin, Padme, Yoda, Obi-Wan, Palpatine, Maul/Dooku, Grievous, etc., etc. No one has time to develop as we're only dropping in on them as events happen. It's not until we get the Clone Wars series where these characters get filled out. Clone Wars Anakin > Live action Anakin.
The ST has the same problem as the PT. They being back Han and Leia and Luke all while trying to develop a new set of characters but they don't narrow the cast down and just go wild.
Rebels, Clone Wars, Andor and the Mandalorian can take their time and develop the characters while still delivering the action so that they have time to breathe. I didn't watch Resistance. The art style completely killed that for me before I even watched an episode.

I watched about a handful of Resistance episodes and dropped it. I didn't care for the look but it wasn't a detracting factor. It's just that the story wasn't engaging at all.

Ha! That's why I called Resistance's animation style "interesting" upthread. Once you get into it, it kinda works, but the show as a whole consistently shoots itself in the foot with various portrayals of main characters. It mistakes clowning for humor. I stuck it out to the end, but you're not missing much if you never watch it.
Ashley, you are spot on with your comments on character development re: animated SW vs. live-action filmed SW. The Mandolorian certainly learned some of the lessons, but even then, it's quite light in that department. Andor feels like a proper drama that places greater emphasis on character development than anything else, which I think has put off some viewers. The animated shows seem to strike the perfect balance. Nombre, like you, I loved Rebels, but TCW too. Through those two shows, Ahsoka has to have had the best character development of any onscreen Star Wars character. TCW went a huge way towards making sense of the character of Anakin too - all the connective tissue of events and his evolution that we didn't see on the big screen happened to his animated incarnation.
A lot of the animated shows do benefit from the benign storytelling influence of Dave Filoni, who really knows what he's doing with longer-form storytelling. He's directly involved in the live action Ahsoka show, so I'm pretty confident it'll be good.

Episode 9 takes a slower pace but it's nice to see them dealing with what they touched on a bit.

Episode 11 ended up exactly where I thought they were going with it but the dark alien-esque feel at the start was fantastic.

So, is it bad that 2 of the 3 episodes I've loved this season haven't featured the rest of the Batch but Crosshair?

I thought this one was going to be kinda slow but I like the idea of them having a new home and this was paradise considering where they've been living and doing jobs.

Episode 14 of season two continues my trend of liking Crosshair more and more. He was kind of an annoyance in season 1 but he's grown as a character so much this season. Love it.
Two part season 2 finale next week! I'm actually excited considering how ho hum I was about the show.

It seems they're building his story to end up being reunited with the BB. But the rest of the ep was pretty boring.

Damn these last two episodes hurt.

I like the character though. I would have much preferred had 'Rambo' bit the dust. I don't think he contributes much to the team. Echo was like the nerd/geek in all of us.
