I did, too. Filled in Mol and L'ak enough for me, and was a nice bit of story overall.
Kinda wanted some Mirror crew to go with that ISS Enterprise. Disappointed a touch there, but nothing to ding the episode over.

I liked the Mal and L'ak backstory (nicely done), but I thought the somewhat wasted use of the ISS Enterprise was little more than "Hey, we have this set, and SNW isn't using it right now, so..."
But overall, it was a good episode; they're 3 for 4 so far. No home runs, but consistently good. Way better than S4.

Could have made it any other ISS Connie and it probably would have bothered me not at all. But, if you're gonna tell me it's the E, I want some more meat on that bone.

Another good one. I liked the background story of La'ak and Moll. Is this the first time they show a Breen face? I mean, ever on Trek? My lore is rusty on the Breen. The two identities merged into one being is rich and it should be explored more on novels. I hope the script give us more on Moll and not leave it there with bitter abandoned daughter trope.
I am kind of used to the idea of DSC being always preachy about emotions and feeling. Sometimes before it wore me down with all thee characters oddly babbling on their feelings. But as of now I see this as a branding thing. This is DSC storytelling DNA, it is how we recognize it as something rather than anything or whatever. Rayner character is kind of molding himself into that premise, the story probe him with these emo cues and he try to squirm himself out of them but the cues win him over; is actually kind of funny when you look at it from certain angle. Anyway, I am not fighting, I am accepting and enjoying what I am watching.
