So I posted this on the Farewell to the Omega Sector thread, but given that it's about to disappear, I thought some of you might be interested by this.
I did a quick check of the most viewed/discussed threads, which seemed to be time well wasted, given that this post would disappear within the weekend until I decided to copy it here as well (I also kept the links to the threads to see how long they last)
It's far from a scientific assessment as I didn't dig too deep (never further than the first few pages of results), but my quick search yielded the following results for the Top 10 most viewed/discussed threads, and they tend to confirm Mr. Picard's assessment (who is also featured as one of his threads did pretty well).
Without further ado, and arranged in order of views:
10 (seems appropriate) - Ten Forward Lounge (pinned in Mess Hall) with 2.1k replies and 101.8k views
9 - What Star Trek book are you currently reading? (pinned in Trek Books:) with 1.6k replies and 125.1k views
8 - What Do You Look Like? (pinned in Mess Hall) with 1.6k replies and 130.3k views
7 - What non-trek movies have you watched lately? (in Quark's Gaming Consortium) with 3.6k replies and 136.2k views
6 (The most watched and discussed unpinned thread I could find) - What was the last non-Trek TV show you watched? (in Mess Hall) with 4.8k replies and 173.1k views
5 - My Starships... (pinned in Fan Trek:) with 1k replies and 222.9k views
4 - Trek Macros (pinned in Trek General) with 4.1k replies and 238.2k views
3 - 3500 + Star Trek Avatars (pinned in News and Announcements), with 804 replies and 268.4k views
2 - The Sir Patrick Stewart Topic (pinned in Hollywood) with 5.7k replies and 294k views
1 - The ultimate winner (in both replies and views) is The Kitty Thread (pinned in in Mess Hall) with a whooping 7.5k replies and 372.3k views!!!
Because, you know, cute animals.
Honourable and amusing mentions:
Kobayashi Maru cannot really compete with other forums, considering it was a limited-access forum, but Make Donald Drumpf Again still got 4.7k replies and 24.8k views, which says a lot on the world we have been living in these last few years.
The specific Trek show forums couldn't get the same amount of sheer views (despite being quite popular, as were the episodes discussions), but it's worth noting that the various 'Babes/Hunks/Studs' seemed to do pretty well (especially the DS9, VOY and ENT ones).
Needless to say, there was a lot of content (and work) on these boards, which is a little sad to see disappear. But hey, people clearly moved on!
