Well, at least one "good" thing came out of all this for Wheaton... there's now a Crusher kid that's even MORE annoying than Wesley ever was. lol And SOME of that was just because awkward wunderkind. The nepo-princeling doesn't have that excuse. He's just insufferable.

Yeah, Wesley at least was good at what he was doing and more than earned his place on the bridge. He was annoying and whatnot, no doubt, but he knew his stuff. The only thing Nepo-Pirate can say for himself is "I'm the son of two Starfleet officers who got fast-tracked through Starfleet Academy just because they said so". Wow.

After all Wesley went through with them...growing up with them, maturing with them, and years of internal struggle when he still thought Starfleet was his path, seeing how the red carpet was laid out for Nepo-Pirate would really ---- me off.

Indeed. Like I said, if I was Wesley I'd be LIVID at the whole thing.

It would be Star Trek's idea of Dynasty, only worse. The tropes are all there already. Nepotism at its worst, "kid he never knew about shows up" trope, "the two who never managed to become an item" trope, "woman ghosts dude after a night of passion" trope... all there in season 3 already. It's already a soap opera, so why not go along with it indeed.
