This show promise. They even tongue-in-cheeked it with "starting Wednesday, September 8"; I had to read the comments to get it. The last year depicted in TOS is Sept. 8 2269, a Wednesday. I love nerds.

Both terrible with this week being worse than last.
I'm skipping the rest.

Really bad, indeed! How can they be promoting this as a way to attract people to TAS? How is that a good idea? Right at the end of the shorts you see the invitation to go P+ if you want to watch the original animated series, so they are trying to hook new viewers to subscribe if they want to watch TAS!! But these shorts are remarkably awful, why new viewers would want to pay P+ to continue watching crap?!?! Mind you, TAS is NOT crap, I really love that series, but these shorts can't be a segue way to TAS if you really are trying to lure new viewers. Really head scratching. Poor marketing strategy.

If this is what passes for funny now, I am happy that it's beyond me.
Yeah, a guy being transporter-ed in half is hilarious.

If this is what passes for funny now, I am happy that it's beyond me. Yeah, a guy being transporter-ed in half is hilarious. I've watched them, and they just seem to get worse and worse. VSTs and Lower Decks both seem to think that cruelty and 'anti-woke' humor (Kirk mocking the various races in his crew) should resonate with Star Trek fans. Well, not with THIS old fan, thanks. They're cruel, stupid and wildly unfunny. They're basically spoonfuls of nauseating "Lower Decks" stew, with extra flies. These cartoons remind me of the bullies who gave Trekkies wedgies when I was in school, only they're getting paid for it now.

I really don't see what these have to do with Star Trek, other than these 12-year-olds that I'm willing to bet set puppies on fire for a good time, stole these characters to write these 4-minute bits of vomit. Beavis & Butthead are high culture by comparison. I only watched the first two. Knew I wouldn't stomach anymore.

I might (finally) become one of those old fart fans left out in the cold.

I'm not sure they can sustain this idea for 50 hours and I'm not sure I want them to.

I caught then beginning of Worst Contact and got just a few moments into it. Worst Contact with Star Trek since The Trouble with Edward. The cultural collapse rolls on. For All Mankind starts up again in a few weeks. Maybe if I focus really hard, Somewhere In Time-style, I can flip over into that universe. If I make it I’ll find some way to let you folks know.

These are short cartoons done in the TAS style to "celebrate" Trek and the 50th of TAS.
They celebrate neither. They're crass, crude, unfunny and just kind of gross.

I still don't understand what is this? There's nothing to understand, Brother Beast. Our minds reject the possibility of engaging with this at any level. Undilluted crap for the masses.

Based on positive vibes on this week's at Trekcore I tried it.
Not terrible and insulting; also not even remotely funny.
It exists.

Based on that glowing review, I don't know whether to watch it or have someone slide it under the door... EDIT: Okay, I just watched it. That's the first one (so far) that hasn't used bigotry for laughs, but as you say, I didn't laugh, either. However long these took to make, they were a waste of time and resources.

Thanks! Perceptive and on point as always. I just think you spend too much time on these monstrosities and they don't deserve it.

I still don't understand what is this? You're not the only one. I been asking the same thing . Its a disgrace and its pretty much trashing Star Trek as a whole. I find Fan edits of Alternate Endings to Star Trek IV funnier. You know "Lets see what she's got" and the Enterprise powers to warp and suddenly BOOM it gets to the explosion scene from star trek III....That one has been done so many times and is still funnier that what ever the hell this was. Although....I can get enough of the fan edit of "Fire at Will" and Worf shooting Riker. I find This one absolutely hilarious for some reason
