Theres been a lot of uproar lately about these companies grading games. They take these things, put them behind a wall of plastic to never be played again. Turns out the people doing this are not even gamers. They're investors trying to manipulate the retro gaming market. Increase the value, then sell the items off. This really makes me sad. I feel like its pushing the retro gaming bubble. These games are not that rare, but when these people publisize these stupid graded games, people who aren't even gamers are gonna snatch up every copy they can find and try to make a profit. Artificially inflating the prices in the market. Example. 8 years ago, I bought Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess for Gamecube for $40. Now, that thing is well over $150. Some games I might as well just forget ever owning simply because these jerks inflating the market. I'm mainly ranting and curious on everyone else's thoughts here. Also, there's seems to be a collector's market for original systems. Those things are getting outrageous. A person is better off just getting a RETRON 5 for NES, SNES, GENESIS (Megadrive), Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advanced games.(Note: This is a clone system that takes the actual cartridges, not a system loaded with hundreds of illegal ROMs). Again, I blame "Collectors". At least gamers play what they collect. They are not just objects on a shelf.
Speaking of grading, they grade the item about the condition of the disc and the manual with individual grades on each....on an unopened game. How do you grade something that you can't see? For all we know there was a manufacture defect, or someone messed up and put the wrong disc in the case. I would think those should be marked N/A or something. But they actually have a grade.
I don't know, I'm mostly ranting. What you all think of the situation?
