I watched "The Outrageous Okona " last night. This episode is so bad!

"Code of Honor" has a stink of racism about it, and the plot is too convoluted and ridiculous.

I can at least roll my eyes and be disgusted by "Code of Honor."
"Imaginary Friend" isn't even interesting in that, "I can't not look at this trainwreck," kind of way.

There are a number of stinkers in s1 and s2 that I really don't care for. The number drops significantly in later seasons but they do still crop up.

"Sub Rosa" TNG . This episode is absolute cringe. Its like a trashy romance novel. Its even worse when Picard walks in on Beverly in mid orgasm. And we have space Scottish, because the space Irish wasn't ridiculous enough from "Up the Long Ladder". I'm waiting on the space Austrians that talk like Arnold Schwarzenegger

But that is literally put up as serious peril and it's nonsense.

I'll second this. I can't pretend interest in watching this one.

Welcome, Ice Man. Have a good time. And, yes, this episode is one of those TNG eps that just has me shrinking in my seat, from the telepathic candle sex, to the dude with the miles over the top Scottish accent.

People often say "Masks" is bad, but I actually found it interesting, also "Phantasms" too. Both were creepy anthology episodes that are most effective watching late at night past bedtime.
Another one I have a rough time watching is "Justice". It's not the worst, but its bad.

"Masks," I think I would have liked more if it gave me a little more of their day-to-day culture or something. I don't feel like there was a lot to connect with onscreen. "Justice" was always just an example for me that the Starfleet bureaucrat who came up with, "Let's put children on starships," should have been fired. I mean, to adhere to the Prime Directive means Wesley dies. Period.

I don't have the moral compass that Picard has. I be like, sure, but the execution must be held aboard my ship for Starfleet records. Then let them execute a holographic Wesley on the holodeck. But it could be my way of thinking...I would totally deceive another culture...and it wouldn't be quite interfering , they would think he was dead.

The Edo think their laws were satisfied. Everyone is left as they were found.

To be fair, adhering to the Prime Directive would have meant not to set foot on the Edo planet in the first place because they're clearly a pre-warp civilization. lol

Like most people I was ready to call it with the horny ghost sex episode, but the clip show from season 2 or whenever takes the cake. It was a friggin’ clip show, at the least horny ghost one tried to be an actual original story.

I give that one a little bit of a pass because there was a writer's strike around it, so it was just sort of banged out. That said, I always laugh at the idea that, apparently, Riker had no memories that fit the bill before he ended up on the D.

I'm with Prometheus, I understand the writer strike stuff, but those Troi reactions. Like every few minutes you see Troi making her pain faces. That really puts it up there with "Sub Rosa". Also, like Prometheus alluded to, apparently Riker didn't have a life before the Enterprise....or the Enterprise was the only assignment that traumatized him. Help his C/O kill a mutinous crew because his C/O was doing something illegal? No biggy. Getting pulled into a living tar pit? OH DEAR PROPHETS!!!

Had to do some googling, in case I misremembered, but from what I gather, the clip show was made low-budget ‘cause they’d overspent on a few other episodes of the season. Did not know there also was a writers strike, but I believe that only ended up cutting down the total episodes for Trek. The producers and writers later on stated they’d wished they dropped the whole episode altogether.
Had never considered the lore implication like Prometheus said, that it’s actually hilarious and disturbing how very specific the clips of Riker’s life were.

Yeah, I think you're right about the budget thing, too. And, really, if they'd put a few childhood moment in there or a younger Riker on some other assignment--for that glimpse into his past alone, it probably would have ended up a half decent episode.

I do think that "Shades Of Gray" at least has an interesting basic idea behind it. I honestly can't say the same thing about "Sub Rosa".

I mean, the whole episode did play like a cheap romance novel. Y’all know the ones, softcovers you find at the grocery store. In that regard, it is kind of a guilty pleasure.

Which is exactly why I think they should have just slowly started playing to all those romance novel tropes and then revealed it as one of Bev's plays.

Harlequin is the worst. Its all about Cowboy Baby-Daddies. Come to think of it...isn't that what TNG was going for with Beverly, Wesley and Picard? Oh God!!!! If you want to cover all your basis, Write a story about a Werewolf Pregnant Princess falling in love with a Vampire Peasant Cowboy on an Amish farm in a post apocalyptic world during a Zombie apocalypse...on a space station...
