SPOILERS For ANDOR, ROGUE ONE, A NEW HOPE
That does a pretty great job of recontextualising Andor and the movies. Luke seems so happy-go-lucky naïve in A New Hope now...

That does a pretty great job of recontextualising Andor and the movies. Luke seems so happy-go-lucky naïve in A New Hope now... To be fair, he really is. He thinks that fighting the Empire is going to be some grand adventure.
Then reality slaps him in the face.

Does make me think what a missed opportunity the sequel trilogy is... I mean, it is what it is, and I accept that, but sometimes I find myself wondering what would have happened if LF had plotted it out in advance and given that to three (or just one) director(s). Maybe we'd have had an older, seasoned Jedi Luke not ending up as quite such a disappointment to himself. Rebalance some of that earlier bright-eyed-and-bushy-tailed OG persona, but without throwing the idea that he represents hope over a cliff. With the benefit of hindsight...

Andor is a demonstrably great show, but for me, it's a hard watch. It's uncomfortable (bordering on torture porn sometimes) and less of the adventure I crave when I think of Star Wars. That said, it's brilliant and remarkable; any nits I have are because of my personal tastes, not the show itself.

I like it least of the Star Wars shows I've seen, which include Mandalorian, Obi Wan, Ahsoka, and Book of Bobba Fett. At first I thought I liked it but the farther I got into it, sitting through board meetings I'm not getting paid for and watching Syril Karn pouting over his breakfast cereal with his disappointed mother I just couldn't care any more. It's a shame we couldn't get two or three more episodes dedicated to the minutiae of building boiler plate ship parts. I really need to feel like I've acquired intimate training on ship part assembly.

For some reason that exact minutia appeals to a certain segment of the Star Wars fandom. They love all these details. It doesn't add to the story at all but they eat it up. All that I can think of is that this is similar to the military nerds and such that can tell you exactly where a certain class of naval ships were made, who designed it, etc... Andor also appeals to another segment of the SW fandom that doesn't care for the The Force, the Jedi, Sith, etc...They want a nitty gritty view of the SWG. There is an appeal to that for sure but this series wasn't as good as they claim. Andor is simply not a likeable or charismatic character. Had they show revolved around Luthen Rael then maybe it would have been good. That's a much better character played by an actor who can actually act.
