Me, too. It's pretty openly and unabashedly offensive, but so were other parts of our history, and the history of entertainment. It's more offensive in a sense to try to just pretend that it never happened.

Erasing history is very dangerous, no matter how inconvenient or embarrassing; those are important creative lessons to be learned from, not ignored.

We are seeing how that, "Nazi's weren't so bad," thing is trying to gain a foothold.

Keep it as it is. I think editorializing after airing is a bad idea also; a disclaimer before the episode would place a kind of stain on the object. Disclaimer notes do a poor service to the history of a cultural object. Leave that for scholars and historians in their classrooms (their views and takes are very important too) but don't touch the integrity of the thing itself, let us watch it as it was forever. Han shot first of course, don't go back to clean your mess just because you are more "enlighten" now. Recently I rewatch "Amok Time". Fantastic episode and I always enjoy it every time I watch it. But it must be accepted that the sexism on that episode is just foul!! McCoy tell Chapel "go on" as in shooing her away so that she can continue doing her domestic chores. Should we add a disclaimer on "Amok Time" like "women depiction on this episode is highly offensive. Viewer discretion is advised."? I don't think so. Is the episode less stimulating because is very sexist? I don't think so either. Maybe even the opposite, it does what speculative fiction does, it stimulate conversation. There are so many examples in the history of art of things that once were considered tasteful and now are just frowned-upon that disclaimers would be popping out at any corner.

I think a disclaimer is fine. It acknowledges that we're aware that times change. CoH is the product of another time, it stands as that, and that should factor into how you judge it.
Personally, I would blip a disclaimer in this day ana age over everything Bill Cosby touched, too.

I think that's the wisest approach; it acknowledges the sins of the art or artist without awkwardly pretending it never existed--like something out of Soviet-era Russia.

You mean present day Florida, no? Right? Don't mention gay or Black history, or you'll face fines. It's insane... Sorry to derail, but yeah, Ron DeSantis is the kind of a$$h@le who'd watch "Code of Honor" and think, "Those aliens are very convincing..."
