Greg Abbott on Sunday, including in their response to last year’s Uvalde massacre a requirement to post an armed security officer at every school and provide mental health training for certain district employees". www.texastribune.org/2023/05/28/texas-school-safety/I'm not gonna be shocked when one of these officers ends up shooting a student instead. |

The security officer isn't going to be living in body armor and he's not going to be walking around with anything better than a .45. He's just signed up to be the first one dead. |

This cult of the gun will backfire eventually. This combined with embracing conspiracy theories and rejecting reality is a volatile mix. Red states have many serious structural problems which are being ignored. The electrical grid in Texas isn't connected to the rest of the country. It is near its max. Maintenance is skimped to increase the rate of return for stockholders. Sooner or later it it will collapse. A few months with no electricity in a state armed to the teeth and trained to hate the government won't lead to a good place.
If its not power it will be water use in AZ or something else.
