Those are really nice. I of course will be buying the 4k+ Bluray individual ones to match my other 6 (Also, I love the original boxart ). I still don't own a 4k player XD. But at least I will be prepared, and these have better color timing anyway even on just the blurays. I thought you might! I'd love to have the individual boxes, but I just can't justify the extra cost. I'll be getting the box set. Eventually, that is - I'll have to wait a little for it to come down in price. I realised this will be the first time I'll own the TNG movies on blu-ray in any format, as I never upgraded my UK special edition DVDs. So I'm looking forward to watching them in high resolution. Even the crap two. Maybe I'll watch those first. Up til now, those special edition DVDs were the best versions to have until the 4k release (and when it comes to VI, only the 4k disc). By crap two you mean First Contact and Nemesis right? Generations and Insurrection are the best!!!! (Ok ok don't shoot me, but they ARE my favorite)

It's competent, slick and a fun, fast-paced adventure. Insurrection is something I've watched occasionally when I remember it exists - I don't seem to have any strong feelings about it one way or another. I think it might be a self-erasing movie, because nothing about it sticks in my memory. By this logic, The Final Frontier is a movie I've seen far more often, and think is far worse movie than Insurrection overall, but enjoy more. Nemesis is pretty terrible overall, but even that has fun bits. I quite like how it begins, and it has some enjoyable dialogue. But, on balance, I think I'd have to say I prefer Insurrection to Nemesis. So I'll probably watch them backwards to the order they were made, so I get the one I enjoy the most last.

Now that I've actually bought the 4K box set, I can put this to the test... except I just bunged in Generations and watched it all the way through. And I still love it, for all its flaws! I might watch one of the two later "duds" next. Save FC for last.

Another couple of passes on that screenplay and it could have been a homerun and then some.

Trekcore's screencaps really capture the difference. The standard blu-rays that come with the 4k sets are the 4k releases transferred over. They are NOT re-issues of the 2009 discs (Which was my fear. I was afraid they had these new 4k releases exclusive to the 4k discs and slapped us with the 2009 transfers on the standard blu-ray discs.) I don't own a 4k player or TV. But I bought these sets for the new remastering, and even on the standard blu-ray they did not disappoint. The best scene that really showed this off was the first scene of the Enterprise-E in First Contact. like OH MY GOD!!!! Anywho, here's the difference between the 2009 blu-ray and the 2023 4k (and its very noticeable even on the new 2023 standard blu-ray-let me emphasize that- its not that your seeing 4k, its that the remastering is that good.) 2009 2023 Also, that angle-made me fall in love with that Ship at first sight. The only glimpse of the E I had before this was the faraway shot on the movie poster.
