Today's episode was... yes. just yes. Loved it. Yeah....much better. It should have been like this all along. That's the pity of it. Even Bo Katan's rather stiff persona showed some emotion considering what she had to admit to the Mandalorians. SPOILERS/THOUGHTS/QUESTIONS: . . . . . . . . -I'm not sure I like what they did with IG-11, now IG-12. He's basically a mecha now for Grogu but I do get it's a way to include Grogu into the show(like they did this ep) instead of just doing idiotic circus flips. I'm not sure I like it but I get it. -Are there satellites or radar in the Star Wars galaxy? 'Cause it's the second time this season a huge ship just shows up on top of Navarro before people realize what's up. Weird. -I'll need to watch again but I wasn't clear if the Imperials were Mandalorians or just adapting their armor. -Also wasn't clear if the red troopers were the new Dark Troopers. They really looked more along the lines of Shadowtroopers from the Jedi Outcast video game. Not sure if they were some type of clone or droid. It was just nice to see a whole ep actually dedicated to the Mandalorian story rather than a filler. It tells me they are capable of delivering decent content when they want to.

The Imperial Troopers in Mandalorian armor might be clones or the new Dark Troopers. They were definitely based off the older Imperial Aligned Mandalorians from Rebels. The ones in red were the Praetorian Guard.

But it would have been nice to see Moff Gideon mix it up with Vizla...especially now that we see him in full battle armor.

Spoilers:
Internet scuttlebutt has it that... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Din does not survive the finale. If true, it doesn't QUITE shock me because I feel like it's been heading this way for a few eps now.

If true, it doesn't QUITE shock me because I feel like it's been heading this way for a few eps now. Sure. Why not? To me, the Din and Grogu's story ended in S2. They could have made Mando into something else in S3 but they brought back Grogu. That somewhat handicaps development for his character considering the story really revolves around Bo Katan. Mando is sort of like Mad Max. Title in name but somewhat of a side character. Is the actor even in the show much? If I understand correctly, 'Mando' seems to be physically represented by someone else. Pascal provides voiceovers which really hasn't been many this season. Maybe I'll rewatch but it seems like a lot of the heavy lifting was Bo Katan so far.

Yeah Mando in the show is done by three different actors in the suit, not including when Pascal shows up with the helmet off.

Ok, the last two episodes of this season absolutely were awesome. The ending was nothing like the 'leaks' or theories and I'm ok with that, but I'm wondering if the re-shoots were part of them trying to hide what they'd film or sow confusion. Either way, season 3 is a nice capstone to this part of the Mandalorian story.

S3 Ep8: The Return
Meh....what a lackluster season. This should have been covered in 3 episodes. Tops.
This is a problem and will continue to be a problem with subscription based tv. They have to stretch the story out to keep people paying. And that would be fine if they had a good story to tell. They don't. They're not interested in investing in the story, writers, etc...It's the typical company attempt at squeezing the most with little investment.
SPOILERS: . . . . . . . . .
-I suppose it was cute to have an 'official' recognition that Grogu is now Din's son but I thought that was basically covered when Grogu returned to Din from Luke.
-I hope we don't see Moff Gideon again. The reveal of his clones bothers me. It opens the door to have him come back. There wasn't much to this character. It had promise but that went nowhere. Just get on with Thrawn.
-It was interesting to see the dark saber destroyed. It works for me though. TPTB put themselves in a bind retconning how you get to 'win' the saber to begin with.
-It was nice to see Grogu use his force powers but it also looked 'Yoda jumping around in EPII' ridiculous. It would work better if he looked less baby fattish. Hopefully they'll address that next time. If he looked more like a small kid rather than a baby it might work better.
-That might be yet another problem TPTB created for themselves that they didn't realize: they made Grogu too young. I totally get how cute he is but it's a narrative dead end. This season should have been used to accelerate his cognitive abilities....even a small amount.
